The Florida Association of Professional Health Educators (FAPHE) promotes health education through professional development and advocacy.

The Purpose

To promote comprehensive school health education programs supporting the coordinated school health process.

Primary Initiatives

Spring 2008 – 2008 Health Education Bill

  • There has been proposed legislation to require ½ credit of health education for high school graduation. Senate Bill 440 submitted by Senator Charlie Justice and in the House a companion Bill HB 265 submitted by Representative Janet Long. If passed, this legislation would back a one FULL credit in Physical Education without integrated health.


  • Fall 2008 – National Board Certification in Health Education

  • There will be a training session at the FAHPERD conference for all health education teachers interested in National Board Certification.
